Note To Self

If my awkward, unpopular, 'scabby' 13 year old self who had just been told how ugly she was, could see the obscenely happy and content 47 year old self she would become, would it have made the dark path ahead easier to navigate? 
Thankfully - I doubt it. 
The road may have been relentless, but it was lined with jewels I'm only just finding on the soles of my feet now. One of my many survival tools was a book called Note to Self.  I filled it with kind comments people made, personal achievements and quotes which I was then able to feed my soul whenever it got lost and needed to find its way back.
